Ash wood is heavy and at the same time hard witha middle density. Its very good physical propertiesare quite comparable with those of the oakwood. Ithardly is toughly like another wood. Above all the high elasticity and abrasion resistance make it formany applications the preferential wood. 

Ash belongs to the so-called heartwood trees, i.e.nuclear and sapwood are usually equivalentwhitish colored to
